Herman Whaley Beasley, 87 of Decatur, died Sunday, May 13, 2018 at his residence. Services will be 2PM Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Springer and Dwight Raburn officiating, burial at New Salem Cemetery, with military honors, visitation is from 12noon until service Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home.

Mr. Beasley was born July 18, 1930 in Limestone County, he was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict, and he was retired from Monsanto.

Survivors: Wife of 63 years: Ruth Beasley of Decatur, Son: Phillip Beasley and wife Adrienne of Madison, Daughter: Kathy Armstrong and husband Steve of Decatur, Grandchildren: Courtney (Nathan) Tomberlin of Decatur, Meghan (Jeffrey) Sherrill of Moulton, Andy Beasley of Madison, Luke Beasley of Madison, Noah Beasley of Madison and Leah Beasley of Madison, Great Grandchildren: Maddie Sherrill, Layla Sherrill, Willow Tomberlin, William Tomberlin, Brothers: Aubrey Beasley of Rogersville, Doyle (Jeep) Beasley of Lester, Nieces and Nephews. Preceded in death by Parents: John and Robbie Beasley Sr., Brothers: John Clayton Beasley Jr., Robert C. Beasley, Thomas Wilburn Beasley, Joel Beasley, Sisters: Clara McConnell, Lucille McConnell, Martha McConnell, Mary Ziegler.

Pallbearers will be Joe Paul Townsend, Tim Townsend, Andy Beasley, Luke Beasley, Noah Beasley, Nathan Tomberlin, Jeffrey Sherrill.

Memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, Decatur Morgan Hospital Foundation or Favorite Charity.
