Brandy Lynn Knox age 53 of Athens, Alabama passed away Sunday May 24th, 2026 with family by her side. Brandy was born on November 11, 1972 in Youngstown, Ohio where she attended Boardman High School and then enlisted in the US Army.

Brandy was a lifetime member of the VFW and former member of the American Legion, always helping Veterans and supporting their causes, which made perfect sense being both born on Veterans Day and being a Veteran. Later leaving Ohio for South Carolina where her family became her priority.

The only cause stronger for her in life was family and no family is perfect. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and grandmother or as she preferred 'G'.

Brandy had a free spirit and a love for life. She loved motorcycles, dancing, crochet, and cooking for the people she loved. Whether she was on the back of a bike, dancing to her favorite music, making a blanket or a meal for her family,

Brandy had a way of bringing energy, warmth and love into a room.

Brandy leaves behind her husband Christopher Knox, son Brandon Colley (Cassie Maxey), son Brian Colley (Kelsey Colley), daughter Brianna Colley (Noah Brantley) grandchildren Elise, Willow, Noah, and Oliver.

Brandy is survived by her sister Bobbie Schick (Matthew McKinney) nephews Zack, Collin, Matt and niece Kate. She is also survived by her brothers Brian Griffith, and William Valentine (Aleasa Valentine) nieces Leigha, Emma, Hailey and nephew Xavier.

Brandy is proceeded in death by grandmother Hazel Stack, father Burnell Griffith, mother Delores 'Dee' Poyser, and stepfather Jerry Poyser.

Brandy's life was not without its bumps and bruises but she never stopped loving all who loved her especially her family. Brandy and her husband Christopher married in 2009 and had said they could not always guarantee happiness or health and there would be anger and sadness but they both agreed that it would never be boring. They loved here on earth and tried to give each other everything until she departed and their love will carry on beyond this earth.
If you never truly love, then you can never be hurt.
