Christopher Lee Wells, Sr., age 65 of Athens died July 6, 2026 at his home. He was born February 12, 1961 in Madison County to Richard Clifton Wells, Sr. and Dorothy Marie Wallace.
Mr. Wells was a member of Clements Baptist Church and retired from Halsey Food Service. He is survived by his wife, Laurie (Belle) Wells of Athens; daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Berthiaume of Athens; sons, Chris (Caitlin) Wells, Jr., and Randy (Amanda) Wells, both of Athens; grandchildren: Brooklyn (Ryan), Cassidy, Conner, Lakin, Mackenzie, Savannah, Madison, Trip, and Landon; great granddaughter, Thea; brother, Randy (Janet) Wells of Meridianville; sisters, Joy Cocchi of Dallas, Texas and Kim (Donald) Gaither of Toney, Alabama; special family members: Kenny Wright, Nicki Wright, Mallory Wright, and Jay Wright.
Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Wells and his sister, Bonnie McCowan.
There will be a visitation on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Poplar Creek Church from 11:00 a.m. to service time. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Poplar Creek Church officiated by Tim Anderson. Interment to follow at Poplar Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chris Berthiaume, Kenny Wright, Chris Wells, Jr., Randy Wells, Conner Berthiaume, and Ryan Parris.
