James Henry Evans, 92 of Athens died Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Limestone Health Facility.

Services will be 3PM Sunday Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Dusty McLemore and Bradley Griggs officiating, burial in Evan Cemetery, visitation is from 5-7pm Saturday at Spry Funeral Home.

Mr. Evans was born October 11, 1926 in Limestone County, he was a member of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church, he was a retired farmer, and Carpenter at Brownsferry Nuclear Plant.

Survivors: Sons: Howard (Rhonda) Evans of Rogersville and Michael Stovall of Athens, Daughters: Shirley (Marchel) Hice of Athens, Paula (James) Cammon of Decatur and Ruth (Nick) Strain of Athens, Grandchildren: Chad Evans, Tonya Smith. Kristin Gann, Great Grandchildren: Amber Ray, Jacob Strain, Emily Strain, Nathan Smith, Bryson Evans and Adley Gann, Great Great Granddaughter: Thea Ray, Several Nieces and Nephews.

Preceded in death by Wife: Pauline Adams Evans, Daughter: Peggy Stovall, Sons: Rickey Evans and Mike Evans, Grandson: Jamie Stovall.
