Don June Frost
Eleanor L. Schulte Frost

It is with great sadness that the family of Don and Eleanor Frost announce their passing from this earthly place to their forever home. Don June Frost was born on September 15, 1934 and passed from this life on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at the age of 83 years. Eleanor Lorraine Schulte Frost, his wife of 60 years, was born on March 10, 1936 and passed from this life on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at the age of 81. Don and Ellie will be lovingly remembered by their children, Donald A. Frost (Margaret), Steven D. Frost, and Lorraine Frost Duncan (Victor). Pop Pop and MeMe will also be fondly remembered by their ten grandchildren, Rebecca Mealer (Nick), Paige Vickers (Seth), Anna Grace Duncan, Lindsey Whitson (Taz), Amber Weaver (Jeremy), Joe Hughes (Leann), Brian Hughes(Christie), Brandon Frost (DeShawna), Amber Frost, and Deven Frost. They will be remembered with love by their twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Don and Ellie loved genealogy, which took them all over the United States looking for family members, digging through courthouse records, and searching cemeteries.  They loved to travel and visit historical places and national parks.  They were very involved in the Limestone County Historical Society, with each of them serving as President at one time. Don was recognized for his many years of service in placing Historical markers throughout Limestone County.  Ellie loved choosing the ornaments each year for the society. Don was a civil war enthusiast and a member of The Sons of the Confederacy. Ellie was a member of the Red Hat Society.

Don and Ellie were preceded in death by one son, David Russell Frost, their parents, all siblings, and one great-granddaughter, Saylor Gail Vickers.

Joint services for this special couple will be held at Spry’s Funeral Home, with visitation being Tuesday, January 2, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. and the funeral service on Wednesday, January 3, at 2:00 p.m., with graveside services following in the old Athens City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Limestone County Historical Society, Humane Society, or Peace, Love, and Animals.
