Marjorie Turner Holland Monk, age 91, of Athens died August 26, 2026 at her home.
She was born October 29, 1934 in Decatur, Alabama, a member of Round Island Baptist Church in Athens, and was a retired accountant.
Mrs. Monk is survived by her husband, Cecil Monk, stepsons, Cecil Don Monk, Jr., and Bradley Pratt Monk, grandchildren, Andrea Partridge (Adam), Jared Smith (Renae), great-grandchildren, Paisley Smith, Kinley Smith, Katie Partridge and Kyle Partridge as well as nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Estelle Turner, her daughter, Darlene Smith and her stepson, Joseph Brett Monk.
There will be a visitation Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Spry Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until service time. Services will begin at 2:00 p.m., Saturday the 29th, in the Spry Chapel officiated by Mike Green. Deacons from Round Island Baptist Church to serve as pallbearers. Interment to follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur, Alabama.
