Mrs. Louetta Stokes, 97 of Athens, died Monday, July 16, 2018 at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

Services will be 3:30pm Thursday at Spry Funeral Home, Chapel with Kenneth Bond and Roger Bond officiating, burial in Dement Cemetery, visitation is from 1:30pm until service Thursday at Spry Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Barksdale, Dakota Potts, Kenneth Rose, Larry Rose, Ronnie Wales and Greg Brady.

Mrs. Stokes was born October 13, 1920 in Lauderdale County, Alabama and she was a homemaker.

Survivors: Son: Buddy (Janis) Stokes of Athens, Grandchildren: Paul Stokes, Mack Stokes, Cindy (David) Potts, Michael Stokes and Dr. Buddy (Cynthia) Stokes II, numerous Great and Great Great Grandchildren, several Nieces and Nephews.

Preceded in death by: Parents: Ingram and Sarah Rose, Husband: Sam Lee Stokes, Sons: John Douglas Stokes and Jerry Lee Stokes, Daughter-in-Laws: Martha Stokes and Gail Stokes, Three Brothers, Five Sisters, Grandsons: John Stokes and Jason Stokes.
