Burlen Elown Thigpen, age 79 of Rogersville died Friday. Mr. Thigpen was born July 27, 1938 in Lauderdale County, retired from General Motors, and a member of Anderson church of Christ. Mr. Thigpen was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Lexington, Alabama.

Services will be 11 am Monday in the chapel of Spry Funeral Home, Athens with Lowell Sallee officiating, burial in Mitchell Cemetery with Masonic Rites.

Visitation from 5-8 pm Sunday at Spry Funeral Home.

Pallbeareers will be, Michael Clemmons, Bobby White, Harold David, James Jackson, Bobby Chittam. Honarary pallbearears will be Lexington A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge #613.

Mr. Thigpen is survived by, Son, Michael Lynn Thigpen of Anderson. Daughter, Lisa Ann Johnson of Rogersville. Grandchildren, Amanda Lynn Thigpen of Toney, AL. Jessica Leanne Newton of Florence, AL. Titus Nathan Thigpen of Pulaski, TN. Brother, Jerry Freeman Thigpen of Ohio. Half Brother, Jeff Thigpen of Lexington, AL. Several Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by, Parents, Robert and Willie Thigpen. Wife, Martha Jane Thigpen. Daughter, Angela Darlene Thigpen Nash. Brother, Jimmy Thigpen.
