Lois Ann Lewter, age 86, died April 15, 2026, at her home in
Athens. She was born March 19, 1940, in Giles County, Tennessee. She was a
member of the First Baptist Church of Athens and a retired school teacher.
Mrs. Lewter is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Brad)
Phillips, son, Kent (Shea) Lewter, grandchildren, Cole Lewter and Brett
(Kenzie) Lewter as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R. Lewter,
parents, Loyd and Odessa Smith, and her sister, Nadine Canaday.
Visitation will be Monday, April 20th from 12:30 to service
time at Spry Funeral Home of Athens. Services will begin at 2:00 pm Monday,
April 20th in the Spry Chapel officiated by Joel Carwile. Pallbearers will be
Kent Lewter, Brett Lewter, Brad Phillips, John South, Deon Hargrove, and Tim
McNeill. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cole Lewter and Bob Floyd. Interment to
follow services at Roselawn Cemetery.
