Mrs. Floria H. Nelson, 96 of Athens, AL died Friday, February 24, 2023 at her residence.

Mrs. Nelson was born April 11, 1926 in Allsboro, AL to Ed & Audie Hooper. She was a member & Elder at First Christian Church, Athens, AL, Retired from D.H.R. a volunteer for the Chili Challenge, a volunteer for the Harvest Lunch at First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Nelson.

Funeral Services will be Monday, 2 PM at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Clint Coffey officiating.
Burial will be in the Athens City Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, 12 noon until service time.

Survivors include, Son: Burt Nelson of Athens, AL, Daughters: Marion (Mar) Hodges (Steve) of New Hope, AL, Susan Nelson of Athens, AL, Grandchildren: Heather Vines, Jamie Nelson & Penny Baker, 4 Great Grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be, Burt Nelson, Jamie Nelson, Penny Baker, Travis Vines, Zach Vines & Mark Baker.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Hodges & Parker Hand.

Memorials to be made to First Christian Church, Athens, AL or The Manna Ministry at First United Methodist Church, Athens, AL

My husband Luke and I dearly loved Ian. He was a great friend to us and will be terribly missed. We look forward to seeing him again in eternity. We hope that you are comforted in your loss by how many lives Ian touched.
