Lester Earl Burroughs - Spry Funeral Home

Lester Earl Burroughs age 69 of Rogersville passed away Friday June 27, 2025 at Huntsville Hospital, Lester was an incredible, talented athlete in football and basketball, a graduate of the class of 1974 at Lauderdale County High School. He was a member of Clements Baptist Church. He was a retired heavy equipment operator of the City of Florence, Alabama. He was also a member of Rogersville Fire, Rescue and Ambulance services for many years. Early on in his life he was a farmer. His favorite hobbies were farming, dirt track racing, camping, and Alabama football. His absolute favorite things were spending time with his Brothers and Nephews, loving on his family, but most of all playing with his precious Grandchildren. He was the best Pappy. Lester is survived by his Wife, Teresa Burroughs. Son, Brock Burroughs. Daughter, Courtney (Monroe) Eldridge. Grandchildren, Rosalee and Jesse Eldridge, Brothers,, Don (Kathy) Burroughs and Lanier Burroughs. A host of Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Raymond and Ora Lee Burroughs. Brothers, Elvin, Leslie, Ed, Jerry John, David and Bobby Burroughs. Services will be 3 PM Tuesday in the Chapel of Spry Funeral Home, Athens with Tim Anderson and Caleb Gooch officiating, burial to follow at Dement Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12 noon until service at Spry Funeral Home, Athens. Active pallbearers will be Jason Burroughs, Tim Burroughs, Jeff Burroughs, Barry Burroughs, Anthony Burroughs, Terry Burroughs, Joel Burroughs and Ricky Burroughs. Honorary pallbearers will be, Brad Burroughs, Ryan Burroughs and Paul Smith.
