Dorothy Jeannine “Dottie” Griffin
December 16, 1944 – December 23,2020
Dorothy Jeannine “Dottie” Griffin was born December 16, 1944.  Dottie was the oldest of 5 children.  She watched over all of them like they were her own.  Unfortunately, the doctors told her that she would never have children of her own, but in 1990 all that changed when she met and fell in love with Leamon Griffin.  She not only had a daughter, but, eventually, had 2 Grandsons and 5 Great Grandchildren and she was adored by all of them. She accomplished a lot in life.  She graduated from Florida State College with a BS degree, worked in Civil Service with the Navy for 30 years, and, even after she retired, she continued to work part-time at JC Penny and Lowes. She was loved by many and made several friendships with young and old alike.  Several of these people referred to her as their work “Mom”. She was a Christian and always exuded Gods love to everyone she met.  If you were her customer, you never left without hearing “Have a blessed day”.  Her love will forever be engraved on our souls!

Services will be 3pm Tuesday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel, burial in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation is from 2pm until service Tuesday at Spry Funeral Home.
She is survived by her loving husband, Leamon Griffin; daughter, Cassandra Murray and husband Kirby; Grandson’s, Joshua Wright and wife Amanda; Timothy Wright and wife Yasmine; Great Grandchildren, Greyson, Serenity, Kyndall, Lucianna, and Varian Wright; Sisters, Sandra Voland Chang and husband Teddy; Carmen Voland; Nephews and Nieces, Nathan Chang and wife Elizabeth; Paul Chang and wife Kimberly; Sherry Schafer and Malcolm Schafer.  Dottie was proceeded in death by her Father, Walter Whaley; Mother, Elizabeth Franks; brothers, David Whaley and Malcom Voland.

Dear Lea, Gary and I are at a loss as to what to say during this time. We love both you and Dottie. I know your heart is hurting, loss is hard enough... losing someone that is such a deep part of us is more difficult than words can explain. We are thinking of you, I know that she is in the presence of Christ and is already busy, just as she was busy here. We love you Lea, please reach out whenever you want to, anytime....day or night. We are here for you and for your family. Love Gary and Faith
